A LOCAL school has been hailed for its efforts to educate Keighley district and Bradford youngsters about the dangers of drugs.
Cullingworth Village Primary School was one of eight schools to receive the prestigious Bradford Schools Drug Prevention Initiative Charter Award.
The awards took place last Monday (June 30) at the Dixons City Academy on Ripley Street, in Bradford.
Guests at the ceremony included Bradford district chief superintendent Simon Atkin, strategic director for Children's Services at Bradford Council Michael Jameson, Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Mike Gibbons and His Honour Judge Roger Thomas QC.
Annaliese Emmerson, project officer for Bradford District Police, said: "The drugs prevention charter itself is now in its 19th year, and the fact that it has reached such a milestone reflects the support and value it continues to hold among schools across the district."
