STAFF and customers from a Bradford nightclub armed with a giant passport boarded a red London bus to a Keighley pub.

The trip between Flares and the Roebuck was in aid of the Variety children's charity and is part of the venues' parent company Stonegate PLC's Britain's Biggest Pub Tour.

Passengers were accompanied on the journey by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, and the Lady Mayoress, Elizabeth Sharp.

The giant 'Pledge Passport' is being passed from venue to venue across Stonegate's chain of pubs and clubs as the firm tries to raise £100,000 for the charity.

Steven Kerwin, assistant manager of Flares, said the club had raised £200 so far, and added: "It went really well, we were quite impressed."

The challenge started on May 18 and is due to finish on September 26. About £80,000 has been raised by Stonegate so far, said Mr Kerwin.
