A DINER has been given permission to stay open late.
King Diner, in Bradford Road, Shipley, was given a licence to open until midnight from Sundays to Thursdays, and until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Ward councillor Kevin Warnes (Green) and a local resident had both written to the panel with their concerns over the potential for noise nuisance.
Bradford District Licensing Panel heard that the applicant, Faisal Mushtaq, had taken over the business six to eight weeks ago and was currently refurbishing it.
Business spokesman Shamran Iqbal said they hoped to cater for people during Ramadan, when Muslims can't eat until after sunset.
He said: "We will work with the local community and make sure there are no problems."
But the pair were warned that their planning permission currently restricted them to closing at midnight, so they would have to apply to alter that before they could start opening later.
Panel member, Councillor Sinead Engel, said: "So you might well be missing Ramadan this time."
