Yorkshire Water is investing £1.2million on building an underground storage tank to reduce the risk of sewer flooding.
The five-metre deep tank, which will service more than a dozen homes in Mirfield, is capable of holding about 400,000 litres of storm water. It will hold water until it is safe to be released back into the sewerage system.
The tank will be under a car park behind the Co-op supermarket on Old Bank Road, Mirfield. The work starts on July 7.
