YORKSHIRE Ambulance Service is looking for volunteers in the Worth Valley area to join its Community First Responder Scheme. The responders are volunteers offer immediate life-saving care to people in emergency medical situations, such as heart attack or collapse, before the ambulance arrives. They are trained in cardio pulmonary resuscitation, using defibrillators and carry portable oxygen. For more information, call Noreen Akhtar on (01535) 618008.
