NEW artwork at Leeds Bradford Airport is showcasing the best of the region ahead of the world’s greatest cycle race.

Bradford Council and Leeds City Council have joined forces to create a strong visual welcome for all the visitors coming into the airport framed around the slogan ‘Fancy a deTour?’

The photos champion the many assets of the cities, such as the 44 museums and galleries, 83 parks and outdoor spaces along with 19 world class theatres. The artwork is a mixture of magnificent vistas and sights across the two cities.

Council leader Councillor David Green said: "The artwork at Leeds Bradford Airport will help to promote the rich variety of visitor attractions on offer in the Bradford district. People from all over the world will see just how splendid the countryside is around Ilkley, Keighley and Haworth when the Tour de France travels through the Bradford district on both July 5 and July 6.

"It is bound to raise our profile and entice visitors from near and afar for many years to come."
