A FUND to create a memorial garden for a mother-of-two has raised more than £1,100.
Jade Watson, of Wrose, was throttled to death by her former boyfriend James Gray, 25, who flew into a jealous rage after discovering she was in a new relationship.
Gray, of Wood Lane, Swain House, Bradford, was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 15 years, by a judge at Bradford Crown Court last month.
Jade's best friend, Jodie-Louise Farrer-Lovatt, started an online appeal to raise cash for a headstone at Bowling Cemetery in Rooley Lane, Bradford, in her memory. It has now closed, having raised £1,155.
The gravestone is aimed at giving Jade's two young children, Jacob and Ella, a place to remember her, known as 'mummy's garden'.
Writing online, Miss Farrer-Lovatt said: "Jade's family have now set the ball rolling and are making steps towards getting a headstone which wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the generosity of everybody that has helped donate.
"We cannot truly thank you enough."
