SUPERFAST broadband is now available to almost 26,000 addresses in the Skipton and Ripon area, MP Julian Smith has been told.

He met with Superfast North Yorkshire's Chief Executive John Moore to check on progress with opening up the prospect of a fast and reliable internet connection in the area.

There are now 98 live broadband cabinets in Mr Smith's constituency and throughout the county 80 per cent of properties now hace access to fibre based broadband, with the roll-out on target.

Mr Smith said: “I am keen to ensure we remain on track in the roll-out of superfast broadband.

“I discussed some of the challenges being faced by specific communities with the project team and urged them to continue to engage with these areas to find solutions. I understand the frustration of those who are yet to see the benefits of having high quality connections and will continue to work to ensure these issues are resolved.”
