The bereaved father of a six-year-old girl, who died after sustaining head injuries in a road crash this morning, has paid tribute to his daughter near the scene of the crash.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed the Lilly Davies, a pupil at Stocks lane Primary School, in Stocks Lane, died during the afternoon after being airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary by helicopter following the collision on Beacon Road, Wibsey, this morning.
Her dad Jack Davies visited the scene this evening, where flowers had been laid by relatives and neighbours.
A silver Land Rover Freelander was involved in the incident and had been travelling along Beacon Road when the collision happened at around 8.30am, near the Beacon Place junction.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicle prior to it, is asked to contact PC 2718 Greenwood at the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.
