BINGLEY Music Live will provide a glance of potential stars of the future, according to Council leisure boss Andrew Thornton.

Cllr Thornton, executive member for sport and leisure, said the four upcoming bands which have won a place on the bill by beating off competition from 24 acts in its Emerging talent contest at Keighley Musicians Centre will get great exposure.

He said "As well as bringing big names to the district, Bingley Music Live is a fantastic platform to showcase new talent. These exciting new acts could be stars of the future which fans can one day say they saw in Bingley. These bands are also getting greater exposure by playing in front of a very big audience of potential new fans."

The acts - The Barmines, Tropical Contact, DownReno and Happy Daggers - will be rubbing shoulders with this year's big name headliners Pet Shop Boys, Example and Shed Seven. Each act will get a 30-minute slot at this year's Bradford Council-run festival which is held in Myrtle Park from August 29 to 31.
