British Transport Police officers are continuing to appeal for information after a train windscreen was shattered by an object thrown from a bridge in Bradford.
The incident happened at about 9.40pm on Tuesday, May 27, as the 9.38pm service from Bradford Forster Square to Ilkley left Frizinghall station. As the train passed under a bridge at Shipley Fields Road, an object hit the driver’s windscreen.
PC Andrew Storey of BTP, said: “Fortunately, the driver was unharmed. However, he was left extremely shaken by the incident.
“In addition, the damage to the train is estimated at £8,000. We believe the object thrown to be a lump of concrete, but are analysing CCTV from the driver’s cab to establish more information.”
