A student from Amsterdam, who came to the University of Bradford to develop her film-making skills, is this month’s Big Screen Bradford Film-maker of the Month.

Roxy van der Post, who is studying for an MA in Digital Film-making, has made a film called We Dream of Mountains, about the power and importance of imagination in everyday life.

“I was surprised and delighted to win the competition, it’s given me a real confidence boost. To get my film on the Big Screen is so exciting,” she said.

David Wilson, director of Bradford City of Film, said: “What we loved about Roxy’s film was the ingenuity of her idea and the creative process to make a thoughtful story come to life through the medium of film.”

The film is being shown on the Big Screen in Bradford’s Centenary Square and the website throughout June.

The 12 monthly finalists for 2014 will be judged by a panel of senior media executives at the end of the year and the winner will receive a £1,000 prize with the further opportunity to profile their work on the screen.
