A short film of two Bradford artists who created 9,000 sand drawings on the D-Day beaches in France to commemorate the lives lost has been released to mark the 70th anniversary of the landings.
The film is just a teaser for a longer documentary being made to explain the piece of art which was created last year.
Jamie Wardley and Andy Moss, of Bradford-based Sand In Your Eye, had help from volunteers including war veterans and their families to rake the stencilled drawings of fallen figures until the tide came in and washed them away.
Mr Wardley said: “The Fallen is a sobering reminder of what happens when peace is not present.”
The Fallen took more than five hours for around 500 volunteers to make and was funded with support from Bradford building merchants Uriah Woodhead.
