Women are being offered free health check-ups as part of a charity’s bid to encourage healthier living and appropriate use of GP services.
Visitors to Womenzone community centre in Bradford will be able to access advice from health workers including pharmacists and midwives, as well as receiving blood pressure check-ups, BMI calculations and maternity support.
The session forms part of the charity's Healthier Women, Healthier Communities project, which aims to reach whole communities by offering women information on healthy living.
Project co-ordinator Nadia Naim said: “We’ve all experienced the long waits at GP surgeries and delayed appointments which is why at Womenzone we want to show women how to look after themselves and understand their health.
The free check-up session will be held at the Womenzone community centre in Hubert Street on June 11, from 10am until 2pm.
