HRH Prince William was greeted enthusiastically on his arrival at Centrepoint, a youth homelessness charity with a base in West Bowling.

Hundreds of schoolchildren lined the streets and waved Union flags as the future monarch arrived at the charity’s headquarters just before 1pm.

Many of them were pupils at nearby Newby Primary School. Headteacher Janice Stephenson said: “The children are very excited to show off that we are proud of Bradford and West Bowling.”

The Duke, who is a Royal Patron of the charity, is being shown a snapshot of the work currently being done to support more than 300 young people across the Bradford district.

He will sit in on video skills and employability training sessions designed to improve job prospects.

Martin Gill, Centrepoint's Head of Housing and Support, said the visit was a great boost to the charity, which only started working in Bradford in November last year.
