The Bradford and Leeds area has been named as the seventh most congestedarea in the UK, down on the previous year, a study has revealed.
The congestion level for in 2013 was 29 per cent longer than they would be in free-flowing traffic, a three per cent reduction.
The most congested day was February 13 and the worst days of the week for jamsare Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings.
The traffic index from TomTom which was published yesterday found Belfast was the most congested city with 36 per cent.
Drivers in Bradford and Leeds face a delay of 30 minutes for every hour they drive in peak periods, while motorists with only a 30-minute commute waste 76 hours a year stuck in traffic jams.
Average congestion level on secondary roads stood at 28 per cent, with 24 per cent recorded on main roads.
