Concerns have been raised about vehicles rat running along a road that has restricted access.

Now police have pledged to crack down on vehicles using Toftshaw New Road, Bierley, in contravention of the weight restrictions and access-only regulations in force from the Shetcliffe Lane junction.

Meanwhile, in Burnham Avenue, Bierley, officers are keen to deal with and reduce speeding vehicles, especially at peak times.

There wouldn't be a 'rat run' if someone sorted Tong Street out. It's over 40yrs now since properties on the western side of Tong Street were demolished to enable road widening. Yet still no major road improvements which would bring economic benefits. Only out of sync traffic lights.

About time, I live on New Toftshaw and fed up of my nose being nearly taken off by motorists flying down the road and if we crashed then it would be my fault!

The road on one of the sides needs raising bollards for resedents to use.

Its a public Highway, for which Vehicle Road tax is paid.

Why shouldnt drivers who have paid Road tax use it?

How would residents bollards work for visitors, nurses, doctors and emergency services.
