Ilkley musician Rupert Stroud has been confirmed as the headline act on the main stage of the Ilkley Hub ahead of the Grand Depart of the Tour de France in July.

The Ilkley Hub is one of a number of free-to-enter official spectator hubs which will provide a focal point for visitors and fans to head to in advance of the race days.

With the initial idea being just a place to come and watch the cycling as the Tour passes through Ilkley, the hub has now grown into a four-day festival for families and friends to enjoy.

As well as opportunities to see the race, the riders and caravans going by, the Ilkley hub will feature up to 300 stalls, a food court, drinks court, beer festival, dedicated children’s area and entertainment.

On the live stage, confirmed acts include Rupert Stroud, the Yorkshire Concert Band, and a specially-created Ilkley Choir attempting to achieve the Guinness World Record of the largest ever recorded singing of “On Ilkley Moor Baht’at”.

The Ilkley Hub event at Riverside Gardens will be open for four days from July 3 to 6 and will have capacity for 13,000 people.
