A woolly bike project has steered a course to Haworth this week.

Yarn artist Cassandra Kilbride, famous for her crochet street art, is holding free workshops at the Bronte Parsonage Museum.

The two sessions took place this week, and are are among 20 workshops being held across Yorkshire to create woolly bikes, inspired by the county’s famous landscape and literature.

The finished cycles will form part of a trail for the Yorkshire Festival 2014, now on in the run-up to the Tour de France.

“Cassandra has been inviting people to join her in creating the bikes – to knit, crochet, sew or weave their own bit of a bike,” said a spokesman.
