More than 100 schoolchildren from across the Bradford district have taken part in a food revolution.

Bradford’s Ministry of Food taught the youngsters about creating healthy recipes, cooking and a healthy diet.

It was part of a Food Revolution Day event at Oastler Market in Bradford. The day is a campaign by the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation. Soraya Overend, manager of the Ministry of Food, said: “Seeing children get excited about food and discovering how fun food can be at events like Food Revolution Day is amazing.

“The event gives children the confidence to cook for themselves, a skill that will be invaluable throughout the rest of their lives.

“We know children who learn to cook are more likely to make healthier food choices and understand how food affects their bodies.”
