Plans to create a takeaway food business off Leeds Road, Bradford, have been refused by Bradford Council because of the impact it would have on neighbours.

Reena Nisar had applied to turn a unit in Sanderson Works mill in Feversham Street from a vacant shop to a takeaway.

The Council had received objections from people claiming the new business could cause traffic problems, noise and even an increase in rats.

The planning report said: “Leeds Road is a busy gateway road serving the city centre and, due to the parking arrangements the use is likely to encourage, vehicles stopping on Leeds Road which would be detrimental to the safe and free flow of traffic.

“It is also considered that Feversham Street could struggle to cope with the likely high turnover of vehicles due to the lack of turning provision.”
