A teenager who started an online petition to save a Bradford medical centre from an uncertain future will have his say at City Hall today.

James Slater, 15, who lives near Eccleshill Treatment Centre, started the petition after reading in the Telegraph & Argus that the centre could close with no contractor in place to run it after July. He will be at Bradford Council's health and social care committee to hand it in and present his case.

James, who is studying GCSEs at Titus Salt School, Baildon, was at the Kirkgate Centre in Bradford at the weekend where he got almost 1,000 more signatures to add to his petition which is now heading towards 3,500 names.

He said: “The public support for the petition has continued to be absolutely amazing.”
