A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after a collision with a car in Bradford this afternoon, with police suggesting the incident may have been deliberate.

No details have been released about the victim, who it is understood is currently receiving treatment at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Police were called to Bolton Road in the city centre just after 2.15pm, and cordoned off the road between its junctions with Balme Street and Church Bank.

A scientific support vehicle was in attendance at the scene, with officers seen taking pictures of sections of the road opposite the old Ring O’Bells pub.

A police spokesman said: “It appears the victim may have been run over, possibly deliberately. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.”

The spokesman added that Bolton Road should be re-opened at some point later this evening.
