Fire investigators are trying to find out what caused a huge blaze which engulfed the first floor of a house.

Crews from Odsal and Bradford fire stations were called to the large fire at a home in Pearson Road West, Odsal, Bradford, at 7.10pm last night.

Odsal Crew Commander Dave Jones said it was “going like hell” when they arrived and it took them between 20 minutes and half an hour to get the flames under control.

He said: “It has totally destroyed the upper floor of the property, and the smoke damage to the ground floor is quite substantial.”

No-one needed to be rescued, he said, and fire investigators are now trying to determine the cause.
