Join Jamie Oliver's food revolution in Bradford

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Join Jamie Oliver's food revolution in Bradford Join Jamie Oliver's food revolution in Bradford

Children can join in with a ‘food revolution’ organised by Jamie Oliver’s Ministry of Food.

School pupils from across the Bradford district are being encouraged to learn about cooking healthy meals at Oastler Market, in the city centre, on Friday, May 16.

Bradford’s Ministry of Food is aiming to teach 200 children how to create healthy recipes and inspire them to learn more about cooking and a healthy diet.

Food Revolution Day is a campaign by the Jamie Oliver (pictured) Food Foundation and the activities will take place in the Good Food Advice Stall in Oastler Market as well as the Ministry of Food on John Street.

Soraya Overend, manager of Bradford’s Ministry of Food, said: “Learning about food and how to cook from scratch is one of the most valuable skills any child can ever learn.

“Research shows children who learn to cook are more likely to make healthier food choices.”

Schools interested in taking part should phone (01274) 435279 or e-mail soraya.overend@ bradford.gov.uk by Thursday.

As above, an excellent idea, good to get kids thinking of making and eating good food instead of the unhealthy quick fix stuff that many kids eat in todays microwave age!!!
