About 30 Asian women who often feel their views are neglected were able to share their opinions with a visiting politician.
The group was invited to a house visit on Bradford Road in Shipley with Yasmin Qureshi (centre), MP for Bolton South East. She said: “I was delighted to spend the afternoon in Bradford meeting with and listening to local women. They all had extremely well informed opinions and valuable contributions to make on a whole host of issues from the NHS to welfare cuts, from education to the cost of living crisis.
“But they feel that too often they have not been listened to – we have to do more to engage women from ethnic minority backgrounds in the political process. I’m proud to be playing a part in Labour making sure that’s exactly what we’re doing here in Bradford.”
