Plans for a new play area in Braithwaite, Keighley, are well under way.
Resident Alex Brown said a steering group had been working for more than a year on plans to build the playground. Bradford Council officers, community workers, residents and ward councillor Jan Smithies are involved in the project.
Mr Brown spoke out following calls by other residents last week for a new play area on the Keighley estate. The residents, backed by the town’s would-be MP John Grogan and ward councillor Keith Dredge, said there was a great need to replace the rundown existing playground.
But Mr Brown responded: “We are quite close to finalising a site and already have some funds in place.
