Menston runner Debbie Bland has broken through her £1,000 target to raise funds for Wakefield Hospice.
Debbie, who runs for Baildon Runners, was completing her 11th London Marathon and was raising funds for the hospice who were caring for her terminally ill brother Chris Haw.
Chris died just three weeks before the Marathon and Debbie dedicated her run to his memory. Debbie said: “Running in memory of Chris was very emotional but knowing that I was raising money for the hospice who cared for him in the last weeks of his life spurred me on.” She completed the run in 4hrs 9mins and has raised just over £1,200 to date.
