Respect MP George Galloway criticised the decision to end direct flights between Leeds- Bradford International Airport and Islamabad by Pakistan International Airlines, which has announced the service is to be suspended from the middle of next month.

That confirms customers’ fears after the airline stopped taking advance bookings beyond that date. Mr Galloway said: “I will be contacting the PIA management to point out how damaging this is to people of Pakistani heritage not just in my constituency but the wider area.” The airport declined to comment.

And service would improve if British Airways started to fly to Pakistan from Leeds Bradford.

Why have the airport declined to comment!? I hope this gets sorted. It's so much easier to use the LBA.

Sword of Damocles hangs over national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines. The reason, its sloppy flight operations which may result in ban to operate flights to France and suspension of its flights on non-payment of long outstanding dues to General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia.

The story does not end at that. Hong Kong's department of health is also "waiting in the wings" to clamp a ban as PIA has failed to respond despite several reminders to produce disinfection certificate pertaining to its aircraft after a passenger was found suffering from malaria on board PK-892 that reached Kong Kong on October 11, 2013.

The management of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has, indeed, become a sitting duck as a result of its non-professional dealing with international aviation community, thus endangering its operations to many countries in the days to come.

Maybe the airline itself has some contribution to the reason the cuts have been made, drunken pilots, heroin importing cabin crew, not to mention the numerous times it has landed outside of the airports operational hours. PIA are providing a service, they should be respecting and adhering to the rules of the airport, sorry but they have been disrespected too many times, so why should we accommodate them.
