A Bradford charity that runs activity holidays for children with disabilities is to benefit from a Motown fundraiser next month.

Fulfil The Wish has been chosen by the Govindbhai Foundation to share the proceeds from its May Ball with another charity that helps educate youngsters in rural India and Nepal, Saraswati Vidyalaya UK.

In the past seven years the foundation has raised £98,000 for charities at home in the UK and overseas in India. This year’s dinner-dance is on Saturday, May 17, at the Aagrah Restaurant in Bradford.

Live entertainment will be from 12-piece soul and Motown ensemble The Rumble Band and the event includes a champagne reception, a three-course meal and a disco, as well as the ever-popular charity raffle.

Mary Appleton, from Fulfil The Wish, said it was “a real boost” being chosen for help this year and it would help the charity achieve a lot in 2015.

“We have also launched a fun club, which is an opportunity for families with disabled children to meet up and enjoy some fun activities, and we are on target for our 2014 Disneyland holiday,” she added.

Tickets are still on sale and organisers are hoping local businesses will give their support by booking tables.

Last year The Teenage Cancer Trust was presented with a donation from the Buttershaw-based foundation.
