Sixteen Year 12 pupils from Bradford Grammar School recently visited the city Marie Curie hospice and spent the afternoon with a team of professionals who are involved in caring for terminally-ill patients and supporting their families.
The pupils met a ward manager, senior social worker, occupational therapist, consultant and pharmacist in attendance and looked around the hospice. They gained an insight into how a hospice works and were also able to find out more about a range of careers in the area.
Following their visit, two fundraising initiatives were organised in school to raise money for the Bradford hospice. Daffodils were sold in the school earlier this month and a raffle for a large Easter egg was organised.
