Airedale’s community health team is helping to spread the word about the support available for people with multiple sclerosis as part of a nationwide campaign.

Two MS specialist nurses, Jane Pearce and Carolyn Zeyrek, will be giving out information and advice during MS Awareness Week, from April 28 to May 4, at Airedale Hospital.

There are around 100,000 people with MS in the UK and the Multiple Sclerosis Trust, founded 21 years ago, runs an annual campaign offering free support.

In Airedale there are currently around 232 MS patients – but there are many more that are unknown to the service.

The nurses can visit patients in their own homes, at clinics led by nurses in Keighley and Skipton or on the wards at Airedale Hospital.
