A man who pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence will be sentenced next month.

Jamie Robertson, 30, of Moorgate Avenue, Bradford Moor, Bradford, admitted the charge when he appeared at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

The court heard the defendant had the imitation shotgun on January 13.

His solicitor advocate, Andrew Walker, said his client had reacted to someone who came to his home brandishing a machete. Mr Walker asked for a pre-sentence report.

Adjourning sentence until May 21, and granting Robertson conditional bail, Judge John Potter told him that immediate custody was likely.
