A plaque will be presented next month after the fountains in Bradford’s City Park clinched another award for the attraction.
Visiting judges from the Public Monuments and Sculpture Association were impressed when they came to the city to view the UK’s largest man-made water feature, which boasts over 100 fountains and a 4,000 square metre mirror pool.
And now they are returning again to present a plaque to the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Khadim Hussain on Friday, May 2.
Bradford Council and Fountain Workshop Ltd were jointly named winner of The Marsh Award for Fountains given for “the best use of moving water in the regeneration of urban public space.”
Coun Hussain said: “We are rightly proud of our fountains in City Park and this water feature acts as a magnet for both locals and tourists. I’m delighted the fountains have won yet another national award to add to City Park’s growing trophy cabinet.”
