A Bradford dad watched in horror as a van with no driver rolled down a hill and crashed into the front of his home today – exactly where his young daughter would normally have been standing to wave goodbye.
Kevin McDonald was on his way to work from the family home in Prospect Grove, Windhill, Shipley, when the incident happened at about 7am, leaving the house wall badly damaged and the front room strewn with debris.
On school days, his six-year-old daughter Emily would have been stood at the window to wave him off to work but had stayed in bed because her school was closed for Easter.
Mr McDonald, 36, said it was “surreal” to watch the collision while being unable to stop the runaway van.
