Is the Cabbie of the Year right here in Bradford?
Anyone who thinks they know a driver who deserves the title is being encouraged to nominate them for a national award being run by Swinton Taxi Division.
The winner will get a cheque for £1,000 and drive away with a year’s free taxi insurance – a prize worth thousands of pounds.
There will also be prizes for cabbies who impress the judges, with Swinton offering prizes of £500 for second place and £250 for third place.
Rules for entry are simple – in no more than 150 words describe why you (the cabbie) or your local taxi driver is worthy of receiving the title. The competition closes on April 30 and the presentation ceremonies will be at the UK’s largest taxi trade show, Private Hire & Taxi Exhibition on May 13 at Donington Park.
