A teacher at a Mirfield primary school has been charged with sexual offences against children.
Parents of pupils at Battyeford CE Primary were informed of the charges in a letter from the headteacher.
It said that the male member of staff had been charged with sexual touching and sexual activity involving children under the age of 13 and would appear in court in the near future.
The letter confirmed that the teacher had been suspended from his employment a number of weeks ago and his suspension remained in place.
It added: “I can assure you that our school’s high standards of education will not be disrupted by these ongoing events.”
