Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to a brazen smash and grab raid in the centre of Ilkley in broad daylight.
A gang of four men, wearing blue overalls and black balaclava masks, and wielding axes, smashed holes in the protective glass at Lister Horsfall, in Brook Street, and grabbed watches from the window display, in full view of frightened shoppers.
The robbers fled in a silver Honda Civic, which had been parked on the pavement outside the jewellers shop by a getaway driver, narrowly missing a car and pedestrians as it sped off.
The raid happened on April 3 and anyone with any information is asked to contact Bradford District CID, via 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
