A security guard detained a suspected thief – only hours after the wanted man had been highlighted at a city centre Beat partnership meeting in Bradford.
The 39-year-old man, who was wanted for an alleged theft from a shop, was held when the guard recognised him after the partnership meeting.
He was charged with theft and bailed to appear at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
Sergeant Mike Bonner said: “This is a perfect example of police, the Council and City Centre Beat working together to detect and prevent crime in Bradford city centre.
“I am very grateful for the hard work of all members of the City Beat partnership in making Bradford a safer place to live and work.”
