Eighteen emergency calls were made to fire stations after a rubbish fire in Tong created a huge plume of black smoke.
Crews from Odsal and Bradford attended the fire, on Holme Lane, at 3.20pm. A pile of fly tipped waste, including tyres and carpets, behind an empty building had been set on fire, and fire crews said the large amount of smoke created made it seem much more serious than it was.
