Stroke victims in Shipley have gained a welcome funding boost after businesses in the town joined forces to raise money for a local support group.
Yorkshire Building Society organised a fortnight of fundraising activities with the help of HSBC, Lloyds TSB, Brown & Gold and Asda to raise funds for Shipley Stroke Group.
The concentrated effort included a raffle, competitions, cake sales and the opportunity to soak colleagues from the businesses, all of which raised £466.
“Shipley Stroke Group is a very valued charity in our community and when we heard they were struggling to provide the same level of activities and support we wanted to help,” said Hannah Rebecchi, customer consultant at the YBS Well Croft branch.
“Many businesses pulled together and I can’t thank customers and residents enough for their generous involvement.”
