Best-selling author and comedian Charlie Higson paid a visit to a Calderdale school to give budding young writers an insight into his career.
He appeared before an audience of 300 children at Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School to promote his new book, The Fallen.
The event, set up by the Discover Team from Calderdale Library Service, began with a trailer for The Fallen, before Mr Higson spoke about his career as a children’s author.
Calderdale Council’s cabinet member for children and young people’s services, Councillor Megan Swift, said: “Charlie has had a great deal of success, and I hope his visit will encourage others to follow in his footsteps.”
