Little Heroes will receive a donation of £2,000 from West Yorkshire Probation as its Christmas toy appeal is closing after 22 successful years.
As a result of national changes to probation, the toy appeal cannot continue, so the remaining funds are being donated to another local charity.
Toy appeal co-ordinator and probation administrator Ishtiaq Ramzan said: “The Little Heroes headquarters is only 500 yards from my home in Shipley and I have seen the excellent work the charity does.
“While I am disappointed that we have had to end the toy appeal after distributing thousands of presents to youngsters across Bradford, I am delighted that we will be able to benefit a fantastic local charity. As the father of twin toddlers, I can only imagine the devastation of a cancer diagnosis and know that the families need all the support they can get. I hope our donation will help.”
