Two masked men broke into a Bradford house and set upon a father and son in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The father, 43, had to have hospital treatment for cuts to his back and shoulder, while his son, 18, was left with a slight cut to his forearm, after the attack in Heaton Park Drive, Heaton, yesterday.

The masked men, described as Asian, broke into the house at about 6.30pm and escaped in a dark-coloured Vauxhall Vectra, which was driven towards Heaton Road.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone who has seen the getaway car, believed to have an ‘04’ registration plate.

Detective Inspector Stuart Lyons of Bradford District CID, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who might have witnessed this vehicle arriving or leaving the scene of the incident.

“This happened in daylight, so it is likely that someone will have seen these men.

“We believe this was a targeted attack and local neighbourhood officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area.

“Anyone with more information is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
