Fitness fans in Keighley are buffing up their bodies for a nude calendar.

Dozens of regulars at NRGym have volunteered to bare all for the photo shoot this September.

The gym in Worth Way will become a photographic studio as members pose in strategic positions behind fitness equipment.

Gym owners Rousel Chowdhury, of Utley, and Nick Hindle, of Thornton, hope to raise money for Manorlands with the calendar.

Rousel said the idea came after he and Nick responded to the recent craze for women to post “selfies” on Facebook without make-up. Rousel said: “We took pictures of ourselves wearing make-up, with socks covering our lower regions, and asked people to donate money.”

The prank raised more than £100 and prompted the pair to ask members what they thought of organising a nude calendar.

Rousel said: “We put a notice on the gym wall and so far 48 people have signed up. We’re thinking that January to November will have a male and female in each shot, picked out of a hat, and the December picture will have everyone else.”

Rousel said the calendar would not be limited to people with perfect, sculpted bodies but would focus on the “average Joe Bloggs”.

He added: “The range of people we’ve got is massive – people who are here to lose a couple of stones or just enjoying getting fit.”

NRGym opened in July 2012 after Rousel and Nick become disenchanted with other gyms, saying they had become too commercial – and found many others felt the same.

NRGym was last summer shortlisted in the Best Newcomer category of the National Fitness Awards.
