Almost 800 pupils will showcase their music and dance skills in Bradford.

The Schools’ Prom, now in its 13th year, will be held at St George’s Hall today and tomorrow.

Organised by Bradford Council’s Music & Arts Service, Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be TV presenter Dave Payne, who has featured in children’s and educational programmes.

The primary chorus is made up of 260 pupils each night representing 19 schools. Today, Jake Jones  from the Bradford Youth Wind Orchestra and Beckfoot School, will perform the solo which won him the Rotary Club Young Musician of the Year District final.

Tony Johnson, Head of the Council’s Music & Arts Service said: “The Schools’ Prom is a very popular event every year and the two concerts will give around 800 pupils the opportunity to perform in a prestigious venue.”

Tickets cost between £6 and £9, with concessions £5 and a family ticket £24. For information contact (01274) 432000 or visit www.bradford-theatres.co.uk.
