Oakworth care home staff raised £525 to fund outings and entertainments for the residents they look after.
The six staff members, along with the 12-year-old daughter of one of the employees, were sponsored to walk 20 miles along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath for residents living in Oakworth Manor.
They took advantage of mild weather to set off from outside the Marquis of Granby pub in Riddlesden. They walked to Snaygill and back. The home’s activities co-ordinator Nicola Crabtree said that anyone interested in staging entertainments for residents should ring 01535 643814.
