Former Otley Scout Adam Dawson has begun an arduous length-of-Britain fundraising challenge.
He is walking from the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall to Dunnet Head, at the northern tip of Scotland.
The 1,450-mile sponsored trek will raise money for the Scouting Association Hardship Fun, which provides financial help to enable Scouts and Guides attend the World Scout Jamboree. Both of Adam’s sons have attended previous Jamborees, but with the 2015 event taking place in Japan he was certain the travel costs would be prohibitive to some – and decided to raise what he could to help.
Setting off from the Lizard Peninsula on March 24, he is now only into the second week of his challenge but has already raised thousands for the cause.
