Firefighters were called out to a chip pan fire in Girlington yesterday evening. A pan had been left on at a home in Girlington Road, filling a basement with smoke. Firefighters from Fairweather Green fire station were called out at 6.30pm, and had to treat a woman at the home with oxygen. Paramedics then checked her at the scene.
