A Bradford volunteer fundraiser is taking on the Great Wall of China in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Stuart Price, 31, of Thornbury, will be tackling the five day trek in October with the support of his employer Costcutter and Bibby Line Group. He decided to attempt the challenge because three people close to him have in succession come up against cancer and now their cancers are terminal. He said: “I feel helpless for my friends and family but we can help. Cancer Research UK provides the treatment that helps people live longer or cure Cancer. They also offer the much needed help and support. So I decided to trek the Great Wall of China to raise vital funds.” Jenny Murgatroyd, Cancer Research UK’s area volunteer manager for Bradford said: “We are absolutely delighted. Stuart is doing lots of preparation and he’s already raised an amazing £2,500, with more to still be donated. I’m sure he’s going to have an amazing experience.”
